Invitae was one of San Francisco’s first biotechnology companies to embrace the open work environment, instead of boxing in their teams to traditional labs. They restored the historical McClintock building in the Dogpatch, and created a space for their employees that blended with the building’s 1930’s art deco architecture. The design provided many opportunities for collaboration and socialization between the various teams, in beautiful spaces filled with abundant natural light.
